A few weeks back, we shared a post about why believe children should have boundaries with screen time.  We gave you some of the reasoning behind our recommendations, but today we wanted to share some practical tips for making this recommendation a reality.  Because we are parents too.

And we have smartphones, and iPads, and Netflix, and so on.  We get the pull these devices have and the convenience, enjoyment, and even education that they offer us.  And we know that the lazy days of summer are ripe for overuse of screens.  So if you find that you are constantly having screen battles in your house and you are looking for some tips to implement a new “normal”, check out the advice in this article from Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood.  Chances are you’ll find at least one suggestion that works for your family or at least inspires you to come up with your own ideas of how to unplug a bit.
